History
Predecessor to Dayaratne Holdings (Pvt) Limited and Group of companies was founded by late Mr. W.M. Dayaratne as far back as 1968. His humble beginning was with a handful of industrial sewing machines, and a small repair shop based in Wijerama Junction, Gangodawila, Nugegoda.
Gradually, business was extended to rent out sewing machines to the enterprising garment producers. This was primarily for the domestic market as there was no export market at that time for garments made in Sri Lanka. Further expansion came in the form of spare part sales to the expanding community of apparel manufacturers of Sri Lanka.
By late eighties Mr. Dayaratne’s sons started helping the business activities. They have been engaged in acquisition, reconditioning, renting and sales of machines and gaining valuable practical experience, which was augmented with various technical and management courses from time to time. More importantly, meeting with customers and by doing so they have learnt the value of the customers and after sales and customer care role. By looking at the growth today, one can say that late Mr. Dayaratne has laid the strongest possible foundation for the company’s business operation. Nearly a decade ago Dayaratne Apparel Solutions (Pvt) Limited was formed with a view to provide complete solutions to the Apparel sector including advice and consultancy services to the new entrants.

Overseas Locations
Today, Dayaratne Group operates in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Hong Kong, providing a valuable service to apparel industry sector in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Hong Kong branch is predominantly to act as a purchasing and sourcing centre and make speedy shipments directly to customers where necessary.
In addition, Dayaratne Group provide services to customers in India, Kenya and Ethiopia directly from Sri Lanka. A new branch and a service centre is due to open in India. Now, we have become success as a group, after passing many milestones.
Product Diversification
Dayaratne Group is constantly looking to enhance the product portfolio by adding latest technologically advance machines, which are demanded by the customers. Currently, group provides industrial sewing machines, cutting machines, inspection machines and finishing products.
Today as a market leader of the sewing machine renting industry, we are serving all the main garment manufactures in Sri Lanka, where we have striven to create new values through and the ongoing invention and evolution of technologies and cutting-edge solutions. We have always provided products and services from customer viewpoints in the conviction that we can learn from the customer’s requirements and create new values for the customer.That is one of the success factors behind the success story of our business.
Further, if a large quantity of machines is required, we have the ability to source them directly from overseas once the order is confirmed.
